How did you get into food blogging?
In 2004 I lost over 40 pounds on the South Beach Diet. Since I had always been considered a food-lover and good cook, lots of friends started asking me for the recipes for what I was eating, and for a while I sent them out on an e-mail list. When that got to be cumbersome, my brother Rand changed my life forever by suggesting I start putting the recipes on a blog, and that’s how Kalyn’s Kitchen got started!
What is your ultimate foodie fantasy?
I guess my ultimate foodie fantasy would involve going somewhere in the Greek Islands and enjoying Greek food for days. I love the cuisine from that part of the world, and would love to travel there.
What are your top 3 favourite recipes on your blog?
I only post recipes on my blog when I really like the recipe, so I’d have a very hard time picking my top three recipes, but here are three of my favorite recipes with mushrooms: Pork with Paprika, Mushrooms, and Sour Cream, Double Mushroom Soup, Grilled Portobello Mushrooms Stuffed with Sausage, Spinach, and Cheese.
