When reading about the origins of the Labour Day holiday, it struck me like a blow to the head, Canadians used to work 58-hour work weeks. 58 HOUR WORK WEEKS?! Now that our work weeks are considerably shorter and probably in much nicer working conditions, we reap the rewards that our ancestors claimed for us. So how better to honour their hard work, then to celebrate with a full weekend of fun!
This summer of holiday weekends has been incredible with all of the heat and sunshine and I’ve certainly gone through my favourite summer salads. This weekend, I’m keeping it simple, but open to a world of possibilities. I’m doing mushroom caps…
I’ve pulled just a few mushroom cap favourites of mine from the Mushrooms Canada recipe library for you to try, share and devour! Rosemary Orange Mushroom Caps
are an easy snack to serve on the patio and have a beautiful summery flavour. Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms
are my go-to for stuffed mushrooms; they are wonderful little appetizers that will go very quickly!
Try these other mushroom cap possibilities and create your own:
Have a safe and happy Labour Day weekend! Make the most of your last week before the kids are back to school. What family fun do you have planned?
