A Great Movember Meal
We’re nearing the end of our favourite hair-lip month, Movember! There’s still one last week to grow that Mo’, how’s yours looking? I’ve already seen some great results on the ca.movember.com site for some of my favourite teams, raising hundreds and even thousands of dollars in support of Prostate Cancer research and men’s health.
With yesterday being the American Thanksgiving holiday, I pulled out a favourite holiday recipe, Savoury Mushroom Stuffed Pork Tenderloin, which is also Breast & Prostate Cancer Approved!
The mushrooms in this recipe provide 18 micro-grams of selenium (26% of the Daily Value). Researchers in the Netherlands found that men who ate the most selenium in their diet had a 31% lower risk of developing prostate cancer.Eating foods rich in selenium may also lower the likelihood of developing prostate cancer and slow prostate cancer tumor progression according to results from the Physicians’ Health Study.
“During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in Canada and around the world. With their “Mo’s”, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and male mental health initiatives.”
